Gorgeous vibrant bright flowers were the showstopper for this beautiful wedding held at Bay Of Plentys Ataahua Garden Venue.
To achieve this design I firstly hand painted all the outlines of the flowers onto my blank fondant canvas. I then hand painted each of the Dahlias, roses, ranunculus and tulips, matching in with the colours of the flowers used on the table settings and girls bouquets.. probably one of my most challenging cakes I've painted so far!
The flavours were double chocolate mud cake with a chocolate buttercream, lemon Devine cake with a zesty lemon buttercream and chocolate mud cake with a mint flavoured buttercream.
The wedding cake was served as the main dessert with raspberry compote and freshly whipped cream yum!

My son Mason’s wilderness themed bash was so much fun, I knew I wanted to incorporate Mason’s love of the bush/outdoors into his first Birthday bash.
I wanted his cake to be rustic and fun, he just loves animals so I knew I had to have them somehow on his birthday cake.
He had bears wolves, foxes, moose and deer carved into cake like it had been carved into a tree, with a wooden "one" cake topper which finished it off perfectly.
The cake inside matched the plaid elements throughout the party. To all the cakers out there, I used Sugar Geeks tutorial to achieve that! I did'nt quite do it justice (my plaid was a bit wonky oops) but ultimately I was happy with the end result because as all the kids (and adults) loved it and the whole thing got eaten!!
We got mason a beautiful handmade wooden gun for his first present as his daddy and the rest of our family are super keen hunters, it even had his name and first birthday date stamped into it along with his own gun licence!
We had our friend Troy Baker from Troy Baker Photography to take all the photos for us. He captured all the special moments through out the party for us to look back on and cherish.

I was lucky to have been able to make such a sweet cake for a My Little Pony themed baby shower.
For the pretty cake, I marbled the fondant with a rainbow effect of colours to match the my little pony ''Rainbow Dash'' finished with an illustration on the cake designed by artist Kelli Murray's which was used for the baby shower Invitations.
The flavour of the cake was lucious Pink Lemonade. A Zestly lemon cake filled with a raspberry buttercream and fresh raspberries.
A little insight into the sequences/time that goes into my hand painted cakes.. This wild boar was for a surprise Country Calendar themed 50th Birthday Cake

I chose the rhyme Two Birds because I’ve always been drawn to birds and wildlife.
I pictured two little birds who had flown away, now cosied up together looking down at the stone, all alone surrounded by the forest.
The silver eye birds are native to my country so I knew I wanted to have the cake photographed in our New Zealand bushland which to me is like an enchanted forest.
I tried several times creating a cake by painting the birds with a more animated look and nursery rhyme feel, but I failed miserably and couldn’t adapt to that style. In the end I stuck to what I know and do best and painted the silvereye birds in a realistic style which is my forte.
I’m honored and feel beyond lucky to have had the opportunity to contribe my work to this special publication along with other such talented cake artists from around the world.

There were two birds sat on a stone,
Fa la la lal de,
One flew away, and then there was one
Fa la la lal de,
The other bird flew after,
And then there was none,
Fa la la lal de,
And so the stone was left alone,
Fa la la la lal de.
